Mission Statement
The mission of the Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations Department is to provide students with a strong liberal arts background that will enable them to think critically, follow ethical practices, and understand the concepts and skills that will equip them for meaningful communication careers. We are dedicated to educating the next generation of storytellers to be open-minded and eager to explore new ideas, techniques and technologies that will help to advance the field of communication and civic life globally and across our diverse cultures.
Technology/Equipment/Facilities
Every classroom is equipped with a projector, internet connection, large video monitor or projection screen, and multiple input options. Significant technology upgrades include: • HD conversion of video-TV facilities • Digital conversion of audio-radio facilities • New 4K HD field video cameras • New DSLR camera kits and mobile phone audio and video accessories • Renovation of news studios • Installation of Wi-Fi and mobile repeaters • Access to AP wire services and AP’s ENPS Newsroom system
