Mission Statement

The program develops professionals capable of using digital multimedia technologies in order to play critical roles in cultural, social and economic affairs. Graduates will possess the theoretical, technical and practical competencies, in addition to the ethical disposition, needed for integration into civic participation as well as the labor/business market mediated by information and communication technologies.

Technology/Equipment/Facilities

The Department has: three laboratories for graphic design, one for traditional graphic design and two for 2D and 3D Animation. In addition, it had a traditional dark room, a photography studio, TV Studio, seven video work stations, recording studios with a digital console, three audio work stations and a radio studio. All classrooms have a smart whiteboard system (Promethean) with cameras for online, hybrid or remote courses.

Online Options

During the pandemic, the courses were revised and offered remotely. For the academic year 2020-2021 we begin to offer face-to-face and other courses in a hybrid way. Currently, we have at UPRH the courses COMU-3009 & COMU 3018 to be able to offer them remotely or hybridly.
