Internships Accepted for Credit

The SF State Journalism Department recommends that all students complete at least one or two media internships -- or even more -- during their college career. Internships are a great way to explore a field, get work experience, publish work and make professional connections. Students can fulfill their second semester capstone requirement through Jour 617 Internship. For non-capstone internships, students may receive Jour 699 Independent Study credit upon consultation with their advisor.

Comments on Quantitative Numbers

Data on budgets for financial aid and budget information in general is kept at the university level and not clear. We recommend students look at this URL for information: https://budget.sfsu.edu/budget-information. The department conducts an alumni survey every three years to determine graduate employment, so the numbers for 6 months are left blank.
