Mission Statement
The Program of Communication seeks to prepare students with the knowledge, skills and integrity to contribute to the communication needs and wants of the communities they serve. We believe that news, information, and ideas are vital to democratic society and to the civic and economic wellbeing of Puerto Rico. The Program seeks particularly to represent in the industry and profession the experience, perspectives and aspirations of graduates from lower income groups in Puerto Rico, many of whom are first-generation college students.
