Mission Statement

We produce career-ready graduates for ever-changing media professions. We produce industry-relevant research and engage in profession-driven public service for the benefit of our communities and industries.

Technology/Equipment/Facilities

We have a 35,000 square-foot building with four computer lab classrooms, one large lecture hall, three small lecture rooms, a multimedia news lab, podcast studio, radio studio, television studio, the Obsidian PR Social Media Lab, and an equipment room with more than 75 still and video cameras for student checkout with all periphery.

Study-Abroad Options

Johannes Gutenberg University: In May of each year, one UofM faculty member teaches a class at JGU for three weeks; typically, a group of three UofM students accompanies the faculty in the exchange and to take the class in Germany alongside JGU students. Students also have the option to spend an entire semester in Germany.
