Mission Statement
The Colorado State University Department of Journalism and Media Communication is a community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to becoming leaders in the education and application of responsible communication principles in media.
Technology/Equipment/Facilities
The department has excellent access to technology and equipment. This includes six full-size labs, two mini-labs, three edit suites, a dedicated and staffed equipment room, and a television studio. Classrooms are consistently updated with state-of-the-art hardware and software.

Students are required to complete an internship or practicum for credit in order to graduate. All internships must be approved by the department and have a designated internship supervisor who approves their participation for credit. The supervisor provides the department with a detailed report of the student's performance.

The department offers the entire Bachelor's of Arts in Journalism and Media Communication as an online degree through CSU Online.
Study-Abroad Options
The department sponsors multiple study abroad opportunities including programs in Mexico, Croatia, and Italy. The department also is an active participant in Semester at Sea, which is hosted by the university.
