Mission Statement
We are committed to preparing students to be extraordinary and ethical gatherers, analyzers and communicators of information in a diverse, interactive global environment. We provide undergraduate and graduate programs where students learn to investigate and wonder in their pursuit of knowledge to find truth. We value freedom of expression and basic human understanding and humility in recognition of our personal responsibility and social impact worldwide. Students become better global stewards through interdisciplinary learning that harnesses their creativity and wisdom, making them better communicators, no matter the medium. Through entrepreneurial classroom experiences, dynamic classes, mentorship, and professional internship opportunities, we promote integrity, accuracy, diversity, professional standards and ethical principles.

It includes editing stations, and podcast and TV studios. The build features six additional classrooms and offices. The school uses Adobe Creative Cloud in courses, which is available in the Koop Lab or on personal devices. The school has dozens of video and DSLR cameras and associated equipment available for checkout.

Internships Accepted for Credit
Internships are important learning experiences. They let students see how course material is applied in the workplace, present opportunities for students to live and work in new places, and can even lead to full-time employment upon graduation. Jandoli School students are required to complete at least 400 hours of internship to graduate (or 100 hours per year enrolled for transfer students). Up to 100 hours can be completed at campus media outlets.
Internships Facilitated
Jandoli School students complete internships in a wide variety of areas to supplement their classroom instruction. Students intern at news organizations, sports teams, agencies, corporations and anywhere else media and communication is produced. The Jandoli School partners with WHEC-TV in Rochester, NY to offer paid fellowships at the station. The school also has a long-standing relationship with SiriusXM and students have participated in the News21 program each summer for several years.
Experiential and/or Immersion Programs for Credit
Our majors have many opportunities to put theory into practice through campus media outlets including newspaper, TV, radio, ESPN+, local news, marketing communications, an ad agency (AAF), and a host of campus organizations. Most majors feature a 6-credit experiential learning experience that puts students in professional situations with close faculty mentorship that include broadcast news, local news reporting, sports broadcast production and our marketing communications consultancy.
