The college prioritizes hands-on learning, offering 39,238 sq. ft. of dedicated space across two buildings. With two TV studios, on-campus radio, photography, podcasting studios and editing bays, supported by tech staff, practical education thrives.

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications does not require the completion of an internship but does accept up to three credit hours of internships.

Experiential and/or Immersion Programs for Credit
The college's Experience Lab requires students to spend five hours a week for three semesters in one of several student-run media outlets or agencies, including a campus radio station, a recorded newscast, a sports reporting agency, an advertising and public relations agency, a content creation agency, and a video, photography, and live streaming agency. These opportunities provide hands-on learning experiences in various aspects of media and communication.
