Mission Statement
The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication will be a national leader in innovative approaches to advertising, journalism, and public relations teaching, learning, and scholarship designed to advance knowledge and improve economic vitality and quality of life.
Technology/Equipment/Facilities
The Unified Media Lab—home to student media—offers nearly 50 workstations including video editing pods and a video studio for live streaming and broadcast. The Holden Strategic Communications Center—home to The McKinley Agency—offers an interactive, technology-rich space for students to produce compelling, imaginative advertising and public relations campaigns for clients. Four cutting-edge computer laboratories offer opportunities for engagement with the latest media technologies.

The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication requires all students complete at least one high-impact course. Courses offered by the school for students to meet the high-impact requirement include immersive learning courses and courses focused on social issues or global challenges that engage students with diverse thinking and cultures.
