Mission Statement

The College of Communication and Media Sciences (CCMS) is dedicated to excellence in professional education to serve the nation, the Gulf region and the global community and provides the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the strongest bilingual graduates in the fields of communication and digital media. Our mission is to prepare bilingual leaders in communication and digital media to serve the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Gulf region, and the global community. The College emphasizes through teaching and learning, research and creative scholarship, and community engagement: • the important roles of media and communication in local and global cultures • informational and technological literacies and language competencies in Arabic and English • ethics, truth, accuracy, fairness, and diversity in communication

Internships Accepted for Credit

COM 490 Internship: A supervised professional work experience in a media organization or in the media department of an appropriate organization in a field that is similar to a student’s concentration. An internship is an important part of the educational experience at CCMS, as well as a primary step of career preparation. The CCMS Internship program is designed to provide necessary professional experience, networking, and confidence needed to begin a career.

CCMS runs a comprehensive and elaborate Internship program with approved policies and procedures to provide a meaningful work experience to its graduating students.
