Mission Statement

At the USC Annenberg School of Journalism, our mission is to lead the fields of journalism and public relations through groundbreaking scholarship, teaching and public service in a global multicultural environment. We consider this mission to be inseparable from our commitment to diversity. We cannot advance the fields of communication, journalism and public relations without full representation and participation across all manners of difference.

Technology/Equipment/Facilities

Students have access to the Annenberg Media Center. This unique newsroom, classroom and incubator provides experiential learning so students can work as journalists on day one, ensuring they enter the industry with the multimedia skills necessary to tell stories on every platform. Students working in the media center cover breaking news on the web and on the air, create high-impact journalism on multiple platforms.

Students can apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom for credit by enrolling in JOUR 205 Journalism Practicum (undergraduate), JOUR 206 Reporting and Writing Practicum (undergraduate), JOUR 532 Digital Journalism Immersion Practicum (graduate), and JOUR 591 Arts Writing Practicum (graduate).
