Mission Statement
We provide our students with a solid academic experience that balances both conceptual and practical courses, professional opportunities and multiple internships, all of which are grounded in a foundation of ethics in a diverse and global society.
Technology/Equipment/Facilities
Franklin Hall features an HD digital TV studio; a media newsroom where print, broadcast and multimedia intersect; an Internet radio station; a photo studio; a focus group room; an equipment checkout and training space; six editing suites; and classrooms and meeting spaces designed for collaboration and hands-on learning experiences.

There are no formal, transcriptable tracks within the four majors, but students are free to pursue their interests within each program.

Internships Facilitated
Students are required to complete an internship for credit before graduation. Faculty assist with preparation and placement. Recent placements are listed above.
Experiential and/or Immersion Programs for Credit
In addition to internships discussed above, our curriculum includes capstone classes that engage with outside partners (i.e. PR Campaigns). Students also have the opportunity to work for and with media organizations engaged with our Collaborative NewsL@b and other facilitated partnerships.

Study-Abroad Options
The College of Communication and Information facilitates semester programs in Florence, Lisbon, Prague and Geneva. Other opportunities for international experiences are available through the university's Office of Global Engagement.
